Chapter 38

Extraterrestrial Aircraft Malfunctions Fighter Jet

Date: September 19, 1976

Location: Tehran, Iran

The following case is admittedly the case that made me start researching and studying the UFO phenomenon. The details unequivocally prove that the reported UFOs are extraterrestrial in nature, and their displayed capabilities are truly astonishing.

The incident began shortly after midnight on September 19, 1976. What started as a routine night for the Iranian Air Force command post in Tehran turned out to be one of the most horrifying encounters any air force pilot could ever experience. At around 00:30, the officer at the command post started receiving several calls in succession from locals who reported seeing a bright light in the sky. The light was described as being “a helicopter with a shining light.” 139 Since there were no helicopters in the area, the officer immediately notified General Nader Yousefi, the senior officer on duty.

At first Yousefi dismissed the reports as misidentification of a bright star. However, the reports kept coming in. Given the amount of reports being made, Yousefi started observing the sky himself in an attempt to locate the bright light. As soon as he stepped outside, he immediately noticed that the object was significantly larger and brighter than any star in the sky, and was also carrying out erratic maneuvers. The alarms were immediately raised. There were no known helicopters or aircraft in the area, which only left Yousefi to assume that a foreign aircraft was infiltrating the country’s airspace.

The first F-4 Phantom II jet was scrambled from Hamadan Air Force Base at 01:30. The pilot on board was Captain Mohammed Azizkhani, who immediately made visual contact with the unidentified object, which was seventy miles ahead of his aircraft. As Azizkhani started closing down on the object, the second he was forty miles from the target, his fighter jet malfunctioned and lost all communication with the base. When Azizkhani broke off the pursuit and started heading back to base due to the malfunctioning, the jet regained all of its functioning. Due to the harsh brightness of the object, Azizkhani was unable to estimate its size or its definite shape.

Once Azizkhani returned to the base, a second F-4 fighter jet was scrambled just ten minutes later, piloted by Lieutenant Parvis Jafari and Lieutenant Jalal Damirian. Exceeding seven hundred miles per hour, Jafari started closing in on the object. However, the UFO immediately proceeded to rapidly accelerate, maintaining the distance. The rapid acceleration was confirmed both by the airborne radar and the radar at the air force base. For several minutes, Jafari attempted to reduce the distance, yet it seemed impossible to penetrate the forty-mile distance between the F-4 and the UFO. The lieutenant also noted that the object had changed from being an intensely bright white light to a flashing strobe-like light, arranged in a rectangular pattern. The lights alternated from blue to green to red to orange. The alteration was happening so quickly that all four lights were visible at once.

Now flying over the south of Tehran, a small object detached from the UFO and started accelerating toward the F-4 at an incredible speed. The jet was equipped with AIM-9 missiles, and because the object was approaching their aircraft at a rapid rate, Jafari deemed this a threat and attempted to launch the missile toward the UFO. However, as he was about to execute, the communication and weapon control systems were disabled simultaneously. The fighter jet had suffered a sudden power loss.

Completely unarmed and unable to communicate with the base, Jafari made a sharp nose dive in an attempt to avoid the object. However, as he made the dive, the UFO responded by mirroring the maneuver. The object continued trailing just three kilometers behind the fighter jet. Luckily for Jafari and Damirian, the object then changed its course and disappeared as it reattached to the main UFO they were first pursuing. Could it be that the UFO retreated and changed course after it no longer deemed the F-4 a threat?

This, however, was not the end of the night for the lieutenants. As the smaller UFO reattached to the main UFO (which I shall refer to as the “mothership” to avoid confusion), the communication and weapon control systems were restored and Jafari was able to resume the pursuit. The mothership was still moving at an incredible speed, infinitely faster than their fighter jet. Once again, a second unidentified object detached from the mothership and began accelerating toward the ground at a tremendous speed. Naturally, given that the object was free-falling, Jafari and Damirian were expecting some sort of crash or explosion. Instead, the object simply halted the drop instantaneously and came to a rest on the ground, making a perfect landing. As the mothership sped away out of sight, the resting object remained stationary on the ground, so intensely bright that it lit up a three kilometer radius. In an attempt to get a better look at the object, Jafari started to descent toward it.

Interestingly, as the F-4 started getting closer to the object, the onboard systems started malfunctioning once again, only to resume functioning once the fighter jet retreated from the landed object. Shortly thereafter, the light emitted from the unidentified object went out and the lieutenants were unable to locate it any further. The lieutenants took note of the exact location and then returned to the base.

Flying back to base, both Jafari and Damirian struggled with their vision due to the intensity of the light the object had been emitting. Prior to approaching the landing strip, a cylindrical-shaped object, which was roughly the size of a fighter jet, with bright lights on each end and a flashing light in its center, appeared from nowhere, several feet above their aircraft. The fly over was also witnessed by multiple personnel on the ground.

The following day, Jafari and Damirian boarded a helicopter and flew back to where the unidentified object had landed. There were no traces on the ground, but the area was checked for abnormal radiation levels. As the helicopter left the landing site, its communication radio started picking up a significant beeper signal. The signal was being received just above an isolated farm, and when they asked the residents if they had experienced anything unusual the previous night, they informed them that they had heard a loud sound and noticed bright lights coming from the landing site’s direction.

The Investigation

On November 12, 2007, Jafari took to the stands during a press conference in Washington, DC and recounted his experience with the unknown. In his speech, Jafari stated that the day after the encounter he was interviewed by an American colonel in detail. The United States Department of Defense declared the following in the evaluation report:

******

“An outstanding report. This case is a classic, which meets all the criteria necessary for a valid study of the UFO phenomenon:

a. The object was seen by multiple witnesses from different locations (i.e., Shamiran, Mehrabad, and the dry lake bed) and viewpoints (both airborne and from the ground).

b. The credibility of many of the witnesses was high (an air force general, qualified aircrews, and experienced tower operators).

c. Visual sightings were confirmed by radar.

d. Similar electromagnetic effects (EME) were reported by three separate aircraft.

e. There were physiological effects on some crew members (i.e., loss of night vision due to the brightness of the object).

f. An inordinate amount of maneuverability was displayed by the UFOs.” 140

As stated in the beginning of this chapter, it is evident that the unidentified flying objects in the Iranian sky were extraterrestrial in origin. There are not many cases that are as clear-cut as this one, and this case proves just how superior extraterrestrial beings are and how advanced their technology is. When an aircraft has the capability to completely disarm a fighter jet, it truly makes one wonder what else these beings are capable of.

Governments have the responsibility to study these reports. Isn’t it futile for a military to protect their nation from other countries if they cannot even fathom the capabilities of these beings? Shouldn’t governments focus on trying to understand the advanced technology these beings are in possession of as opposed to spending billions on warfare?
