Sweet Rice and Lentil Porridge

By adding a little sugar and spice to the basic Rice and Lentil Congee (page 10), you can enjoy a very easy-to-make dessert.

One portion of cooked Rice and Lentil Congee (page 10)

75 g (½ cup) raw cane sugar

Cinnamon stick or powder, and split vanilla bean or extract (both optional)

 

1 Follow the recipe for Rice and Lentil Congee. Either place the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean into the pot while cooking the Rice and Lentil Congee or place into individual serving bowls and stir to blend flavors.
