EPILOGUE

Not the End

Mind what you have learned. Save you it can.

Yoda, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

The moment you understand that the way forward is to look within yourself for answers, you realize that any hindrances you face are caused by your disconnection from your inner being. In other words, not making friends with yourself is the enemy or the dark side of the Force at work. Your inner being is what makes you who you are. It is all-powerful, intelligent, all-loving and wise. You can call this spirit or the Force within you. It doesn’t matter what you call it. The important thing is you know that you are more than your body or external appearances. You are an eternal spiritual being in human form. You are the Force and can change your life by changing your thoughts, and the way your focus attracts people and situations to you.

Self-help and independence of spirit is the way of the Jediist. Overcoming personal struggles can awaken you to your purpose, which is to bring light, love, peace and harmony into the world. Every time a Jediist seeks meaning from within and consciously chooses peace and love, the light side of the Force grows stronger. It is entirely plausible that the Jediist-minded among us today can usher in a new spirituality and shift in global consciousness towards peace and harmony that is more powerful than any we can possibly imagine.

I hope what you have read in this book will have shown you that Jediism is not so much a religion but an exciting and relevant spiritual or philosophical movement – a universal desire for self-awareness, awakening, peace, love and harmony that is alive within us all whatever our age, background, culture, religion or belief system. It is about recognizing that spark of desire within ourselves and others, and seeing how that desire interconnects us all. It is attracting success and happiness and a deep sense of meaning and purpose into your life. It is empowering mind, body, heart and spirit. It is knowing you are in control of your life but also having the ability to let go when things cannot be changed and trusting that the universe will bring you what you need at the right time.

Jediism is embodying love, gratitude and peace and remaining humble, because no Jediist can know all there is to be known about the Force as it is beyond our understanding on Earth. We can only surrender to its mystery and trust that everything happens for a reason, even the bad. A Jediist stays strong during dark times by remembering who they are and no matter what happens always keeping their heart and mind facing the light.

FINDING YOUR WAY

When I founded Jediism in 2007 it wasn’t the right time to launch Jediism and its powerful message of self-awakening. Initially the movement was a religion with rituals and clothing requirements, but it has grown and changed and left all those unnecessary material concerns behind. Everything I have learned these last ten years has transformed it into a philosophical and spiritual movement rather than a religion. It’s a whole new world out there.

Increasingly, people aren’t looking to religion for a sense of meaning. We are all starting to ask questions and demand answers rather than quietly accepting what we are told or what is expected of us. If one of those questions you ask yourself is: “What is the meaning of my life?” or “How can I find my meaning?”, Jediism is here to help you find your answers.

In this book I’ve presented the nine lessons I learned about how to live as a Jediist Master. I hope you will come to think of this book as your arrow to the Force within and around you. I hope it will be a book that you will return to time and again for inspiration, guidance, comfort and a sense of meaning. Be aware, though, that your journey as a Jediist doesn’t end here on this page. This book has barely scratched the surface of who you are and what you are here to do. It is only the beginning. There is so much more for you to learn and I hope you will never stop discovering yourself and creating the life of your dreams. I hope you will continue your journey of spiritual awakening and evolution by joining the Church of Jediism. (Details about how to do that can be found in the Appendix.)

Whether you decide to join the church or not, I hope this book has opened your mind to new possibilities and reminded you that there is so much more to you and this life than meets the eye. Remember, the way of the Jediist will take you to a place that is not on any map, but to an unseen galaxy of creativity, power and love you never knew existed within and all around you.

If you want to live a meaningful life you are already a Jediist at heart. It’s your life. Follow your heart...

Find yourself by becoming the Force.
