This slow-cooked version is perfect for a labor-free weeknight meal or for a Shabbat dinner!
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 4–6 hours (or overnight for Shabbat) Makes: 4 servings
1 whole chicken, 3–4 pounds (1.4–1.8 kg)
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt-free all-purpose seasoning
Simply place the whole chicken into the slow cooker and sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and all-purpose seasoning.
Cover and cook the chicken on low for 4–6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through. The meat will fall off the bone once cooked and sliced.
Bubbe’s tip: Who is ready for Shabbat dinner? Make sure you select a larger chicken and put your slow cooker on the lowest setting if cooking overnight!
