If you’ve never had chocolate-covered matzo before, rank this recipe first on your to-do list. It’s a must.
Prep Time: 15 minutes Freeze Time: 20 minutes Makes: 4 servings
4 sheets homemade Matzo (here or here)
1 cup (180 g) chocolate chips, melted
Unsweetened coconut flakes, crushed nuts or seeds, optional
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, using a basting brush, take one sheet of matzo at a time and “paint” on the chocolate.
If you wish to add toppings, you can then sprinkle nuts, seeds or coconut shreds. Place the chocolate covered matzo onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and repeat with remaining pieces of matzo.
Place the baking sheet into the freezer for 20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Now you can remove it and break it into smaller pieces, if you wish, or serve and eat as is!
Bubbe’s tip: What, you don’t like simple?! Then add crushed nuts, seeds or coconut and mix and match! What are you waiting for? Get on with it!
