Scooby decides to go where the helpful man is pointing. “Come on, ret’s find Raggy!” he says.
He jumps up with new determination and gives the man a high-five. His paw smacks something sticky. When he pulls away, something that looks like dark maple syrup covers his foot.
Scooby tries to sniff it, but his nose is too congested. He takes a lick, but it tastes terrible.
“Yuuuuck!” Scooby gags.
“Lead the way, um… what’s your name?” Gaggy says.
“Charlie. Charlie Equis,” the man replies.
“Pleased to meet you, Charlie! My name is Gaggy. Gaggy Rogers. This is Scooby-Doo and Whoopsy-Doo,” Gaggy introduces his friends.
“Hello,” Charlie says, waving weakly at the canine cousins.
“Now that we know who’s who, let’s find my nephew,” Gaggy says.
“I think I saw him heading for the big top,” Charlie says.
They dash off through the crowded midway. They get halfway down the main avenue when Charlie suddenly screeches to a halt.
“Wait! There he goes!” Charlie shouts and points off to the left.
“Where?” Gaggy asks. He turns around in a circle trying to spot Shaggy.
“There!” Charlie insists. He starts to run in another direction.
The searchers follow Charlie. They race past the crowded carnival rides. They see laughing kids and their happy families. But there is no sign of Shaggy.
“Are you sure you saw my nephew?” Gaggy asks Charlie.
“Are you calling me a liar?” Charlie snaps at Gaggy. “Forget it! I’m not helping you any more!”
Charlie stomps off in a huff. No one sees him smile as he leaves.
“Fools!” Charlie mutters.
