Chapter 8: The One Another Factor
1. Life with a capital L refers to spiritual life that is the result of the transformational power of the gospel by grace through faith (Ephesians 2), and that the glory of God is an individual who is fully alive. See Matt Heard’s Life with a Capital L: Embracing Your God-Given Humanity (Colorado Springs: Multnomah, 2014).
Chapter 9: A Plea to Pastors and Church Leaders
1. Ecclesia is the word the New Testament uses that is most often translated as church, though the word church is not the best representation of this Greek word. The Greek word kuriakon might better be translated church. While there are many nuances of the meaning of ecclesia that are not represented by church, I will simply say that whereas church tends to suggest a place or building, ecclesia suggests an assembly of people.
2. The Appendix lists several grandparenting resources I would recommend to any pastor who wants to build an effective ministry to and with grandparents. All of these are available on the Legacy Coalition website (www.thelegacycoalition.com).
