The La Mesa Police Department makes available upon request numerous training bulletins on various issues: Emotional and Spiritual Wellness; Emotional Survival Practices; Managing the Hypervigilance Cycle; How Your Family Can Support You; Nobility of Police Service; Preparing for PTSD and Acute Stress; Promoting Emotional-Spiritual Wellness among Ourselves; Spirituality in Law Enforcement as a Shield; Stress; Stress Management; Stress Prevention and Processing; Suicide Prevention and Awareness; Supporting Officers after a Critical Incident; E.M.D.R.; and Combat-Tactical Breathing. There are also several BeSTOW emotional-wellness quarterly newsletters available. In addition, our department instructions for our Wellness Program (regarding peer support and the BeSTOW philosophy) and our Chaplain Program’s standard operating procedures are available upon request.
