SIMPLE POSTURES FOR WARMING UP BEFORE YOGA SESSION

It is advisable to perform some simple postures for warming up before starting the series. This will allow the system to be more responsive.

Palm tree posture I – Talasana I

1.Stand with legs together. (32). Breathe out.

2.Breathing in, raise arms above head. Stretch upper part of body from waist to maximum. Breathe out slowly. (33)

3.Maintain posture. Complete 3-5 breathing rounds. May be gradually increased to 10 breathing rounds.

4.Lower arms alongside body, breathing out. (32)

5.Relax.

Palm tree posture II – Talasana II

1.Stand with legs together. Breathe out. (32).

2.Breathing in, cross fingers, raise arms above head, palms up. Stretch upper part of body from waist to maximum. Breathe out slowly. (34)

3.Maintain posture. Complete 3-5 breathing rounds. May be gradually increased to 10 breathing rounds.

4.Breathing out, unlock fingers and lower arms alongside body. (32)

5.Relax.

Stick posture – Yashtikasana

1.Lie flat on back, legs together. (35)

2.Cross fingers, turning palms outwards. Breathe out. (36)

3.Breathing in, slowly raise arms to touch the floor behind the head. Breathe out. (37)

4.Breathing in, stretch the trunk and limbs to maximum, toes pointing down. Breathing out, relax tension slowly.

5.Maintain posture. Complete 3-5 breathing rounds.

6.Breathing out, lower arms and unlock fingers. (35)

7.Relax.
