Now that you have quieted yourself by learning to stand down, it is time to tune in and start listening to the world around you. By tuning in I have been able to help friends before they knew they needed my help. Like when I dropped a friend off at the airport and she forgot to tell me when to pick her up. I knew what day she was supposed to return, so I kept my afternoon open. When she texted me in a panic the morning of her arrival I told her not to worry because I was available to pick her up when her flight landed. I have been able to solve problems before they got out of control, and I use trends I’ve noticed to help my life run more smoothly. After a few years (I didn’t say I learned quickly!) I noticed when my daughter was sick to her stomach she would always throw up three times. I started insisting she stay near the facilities until the three times were over. This one observation has saved us a ton of sheet washing and carpet scrubbing. Tune in and take notice of what is going on around you. You can use this knowledge to the benefit of yourself and others.
