The best you have to offer is within you. Somehow we tend to forget that. We get down on ourselves for not being perfect. We put up walls to keep people out. We stop considering advice and refuse to accept compliments. We try to present what we think is the perfect image. It’s time to take a good look inside and figure out who is really in there. Start owning up to the real you and listening to it. Be truthful about who that person is with yourself and with others. For a short time I tried to be one of those people who likes to go out and party. While I do love social dancing, I rarely enjoy super-loud thumpy music, excessive drinking, or staying up past midnight. I just can’t hang. After trying this lifestyle multiple times because I wanted to fit in, I gave up on being someone I wasn’t and stopped going to these types of events unless I really wanted to go. I am so much happier! When you admit the truth about who you are you can weed through all the noise, focus on your best qualities, and start using them to your advantage.
