Orgasm Control

Known as “edging,” “peaking,” “surfing,” and several other less commonly used names, orgasm control is a collection of sexual techniques expressed in two ways. The active partner, or giver, controls the passive partner’s orgasm, as in Orgasmic Providing (page 317). Or one person, usually the man, controls his own orgasm during masturbation or intercourse.

You have learned to use techniques for delaying male ejaculation, expanding and extending orgasm, and encouraging whole-body orgasm for men and women. The same skills set, especially the Venus Butterfly (page 31), is used in The One-Hour Orgasm, Leah and Bob Schwartz’s 1995 best-seller, and is also the basis of extended massive orgasm.

The objective is to keep arousal high by varying the intensity and speed of stimulation, because the longer you remain in that highly aroused state, the more intense your orgasm will be. Many people who take the practice to the limits report feelings of euphoria. If you want to explore, try these sources:

• Sexy Spirits website, www.sexyspirits.com

• Research studies on orgasm control (and related names) conducted under scientific protocol. The archives of The Journal of Sex Research are a good place to start.

• Tantric and Taoist teachings. Margot Anand’s The Art of Sexual Ecstasy is the best book ever written on the subject.

• Finally, if you read popular books such as The One-Hour Orgasm, recognize that the authors are teaching you the same skills you learned here, dressed up in hyper-hype and overpromising. Are you really going to have a one-hour orgasm?
