MASON JAR MANGO TANGO

Made with mango juice, an admittedly uncommon ingredient, the Mango Tango is a tart, boozy smoothie for hot days. The drink makes use of the contrasting flavors of dark rum and coconut rum, two favorite tropical drink ingredients. Calling for mango, pineapple, and lime juices (not to mention orange liqueur), the Mango Tango is an aggressively citrusy concoction that will pucker your face in the best possible way.


Makes 1 serving.


1 oz dark rum

1 oz coconut rum

1 oz orange liqueur

1/2 lime (juiced)

4 oz mango juice

2 oz pineapple juice

1 mango slice (garnish)

1. Pour the liquid ingredients into a blender, adding as many ice cubes as necessary to reach the desired consistency. Blend until smooth.

2. Pour the resulting smoothie into your Mason jar and garnish with a slice of mango. Enjoy.

VARIATION

Some swear that it isn’t a true Mango Tango unless a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri (page 65) is layered into the drink. The resulting cocktail displays a beautiful medley of bright oranges and reds.
