The Preamble of the Constitution states who wrote the Constitution and for whom: “We, the People of the United States . . .” This place mat can be a great reminder of the freedoms that we, the people of the United States, enjoy.
1. Transfer the writing from here to the top left corner of the tan or light brown paper (construction, butcher, or newsprint). Tracing paper and pencil may be helpful.
2. Use crayons or markers to trace around and fill in the writing on the light brown paper.
3. Decorate the place mat with other words that represent American standards, such as Liberty, Justice, Pursuit of Happiness, Rights, Freedom, Equality, and so on.
4. If you wish, rough up the edges of the place mat to make it look old and worn.
