Chapter One

The WHY Before the HOW

“I’ve struggled with my weight since I was very young. In 6th grade, I went on my first diet because I had a breakdown in a clothing store fitting room trying on bathing suits with my mom. These struggles only continued, which led to a lot of unhappiness within my own heart. To say my relationship with food was unhealthy is an understatement. That’s when the FASTer Way to Fat Loss found me. It’s taught me how to fuel my body, how to push my body, and most importantly, how to love my body. I have never felt more confident in how I feel and how I look.”

— Brooke L.

In this book, I’m going to share the secret sauce.

The formula that makes the FASTer Way to Fat Loss the best program on the market. However, before we delve into the science, I want to discuss why this matters.

You may be reading this book in a similar spot to where I was several years ago. Exhausted, depleted, frustrated, and desperate for a solution. You may be longing for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle that you can maintain long-term.

The FASTer Way can certainly help—but isn’t a magic pill. It’s not a quick fix. Yes, with the FASTer Way you will experience accelerated fat loss and results, but it isn’t easy. There is a learning curve. In fact, most of my clients feel overwhelmed as they learn the cutting-edge strategies that make the FASTer Way unique and effective. If they hang in there, they receive a sustainable lifestyle that will forever change the way they live.

The frustration of losing and gaining the same amount of weight is proof alone that traditional dieting practices aren’t working. It’s a helpless feeling when you’re doing all the “right” things, but nothing is working.

This Isn’t About You

It can be uncomfortable to make a significant lifestyle change. But like I tell my FASTer Way clients, maybe it isn’t about your comfort. Maybe implementing the FASTer Way lifestyle and becoming healthy once and for all isn’t about you.

Perhaps it’s about those you will impact.

Your kids, your spouse, your extended family, your church, your co-workers, your community. See, I stepped into the fitness industry and created the FASTer Way for more than to help clients look good in a bikini on the beach. Sure, it’s important to empower women and men to be confident, but life is about more than that. When we begin to implement a healthy lifestyle, we have the energy needed to accomplish our goals, fulfill our purpose, and make a massive, positive impact in the world.

Like my good friend Claudia Chan discusses at length in her book, This is How We Rise, we must consider how we can rise to our highest potential and make a positive impact on those around us.

I believe that starts with good health.

Through the FASTer Way, I equip and empower clients to get well, reduce the risk of disease, and fulfill their purpose with the energy I know they should have.

Now I want to challenge YOU to do the same. A better, more fulfilled life doesn’t start and end with wellness. Even in spite of perfect health, you won’t ever be fully alive until you find your motivation, your greatest, God-given purpose.

I recommend you read this book and learn the science behind the FASTer Way. I encourage you to implement the FASTer Way in your own life, and I challenge you to rise to your highest potential with the FASTer Way community.

Progress, Not Perfection

Throughout the FASTer Way to Fat Loss, we focus on progress, not perfection. We also celebrate small wins each day and encourage each other to keep pushing forward toward our goals.

Having a positive mindset as you read this book will enable you to overcome doubt and fears. You will routinely hear us say throughout the program and on social media to focus on “progress over perfection.” The goal is to experience daily wins (a.k.a. progress) leading to a transformed life.

We believe adopting this mindset will assist you in achieving your goals and, more importantly, see transformation in your life. We continually hear from our clients how the FASTer Way has changed their life.

Just remember, like everyone who attempts change or tries something new, you will have moments that are difficult. I often tell my clients to stop trying to skip the struggle. Challenge is required for change. On average (although this can vary), it takes sixty-six days—or about two months—to form a habit.4 I have no doubt that if you commit to the FASTer Way lifestyle, you will experience progress, and daily wins leading to a transformed life. Plus, keep in mind, you don't have to make sweeping lifestyle changes all at once to have success. Small steps can add up to giant rewards over time.

YOU’VE GOT THIS, AND I’M HERE FOR YOU.
