Sometimes we need to be able to nibble on a snack that is light and airy as well as satisfying. This way we can stretch out the grazing, and make it last longer without blowing our healthy eating plan. Other times, though, we need concentrated mid-afternoon fortification that we can enjoy in just a few bites before moving on to the next activity. Here are two versions of the 21-Day Diet’s signature snack, Super Trail Mix: One is a potent mix of nuts and dried fruit with less volume and more intensity. The other is literally a fluffier combination that also includes puffed whole-grain cereal, to extend the experience into more of a contained munch-fest. Take your pick! NOTE: A good way to control Super Trail Mix portion size is to measure single servings into small resealable plastic bags as soon as it’s made. Store the bags in the refrigerator, and just pull them out, one at a time, as needed.
