RealAge-effect ingredients:

Packed with vitamin C, this smoothie offers great possibilities and other great phytochemicals. It’s been known to make your total cholesterol level fall. This makes you 6.8 days younger!

Bananas, berries, orange juice, soy milk (vitamin C, isoflavones, potassium, antioxidants, flavonoids, folic acid, fiber)

ingredients

2 cups cut-up honeydew melon

2 cups frozen or fresh hulled, halved strawberries

2 cups frozen raspberries or other berries

2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate

4 ice cubes or 1 cup crushed ice

1 large tablespoon quick oats

preparation

Combine all ingredients in a blender container. Cover; blend until smooth.

substitutions: One glass of orange juice can replace the tablespoon of orange juice concentrate. Frozen blueberries or mixed berries may replace raspberries. If fruit is fresh rather than frozen, add 2 more ice cubes.

tips: This frosty fiber-packed breakfast shake must be served cold. With a few nuts, this works as a great afternoon snack or as a quick breakfast. A tip of the chef’s hat to Linda DeFrancisco for this. She has a friend who had high blood pressure and high total cholesterol. Since substituting this drink for her normal saturated-fat breakfast, her blood pressure and total cholesterol have marched toward normality.
