Acknowledgments Me and Tiger had a difference of opinion. We rode in silence the rest of the way to Grandmama’s house. Tiger nodded, looking back from the break. I was hanging out around the house watching Soul Train when the phone rang. The dogs barely moved while I took the transit out of its case… I stubbed out my cigarette and finished my juice. Even with the frain from the storm pelting the windows of my room, I didn’t sleep more than thirty minutes or so. The pier was almost deserted. Shane pitched off his board to avoid a collision with a nother kid who dropped in on him. Back at this house, I parked my truck… The mechanics of a bad wipeout are as varied as any combination of timing, tide, and experience. Tiger left about seven-thirty, when they brought in my breakfast. Tiger let me come back to work because I was bored… When we got home, Tiger excused himself and went to bed. Tonight was a forever since then. Me and Tiger had a difference of opinion.
