Following a critique of training as an isolated HPE strategy, he surveys the most widely used methods for analyzing performance, and introduces his HPE model and competencies for HPE professionals. Appended materials, which also appear in the companion CD-ROM, include core competencies, an instrument for assessing such, and related worksheets.
