Fabric Requirements and Cutting
NOTE
All the pieces for this block will be cut using templates from Pattern 4. The dimensions listed in the chart under “Size to Cut” represent the amount of fabric required for each piece. More fabric may be required for shortcut piecing or fussy cutting.
To make a template from a pattern, refer to Making and Using Freezer-Paper Templates. When cutting your fabric, remember to add seam allowances and mark points for matching seams.
Make the Block
1. Sew a piece A to the left side of a piece B.
2. Sew a piece C to the right side of piece B to finish row 1.
3. Sew a piece D to the left side of a piece E.
4. Sew a piece F to the right side of piece E to finish row 2.
5. Sew together rows 1 and 2. figure a
Make the Bottom Half
Repeat Steps 1–5 (above) to make the bottom half. figure b
Finish the Block
Sew the top and bottom halves together. figure c
