Summer

In the summer, I find myself coming back to the simplest recipes that use as much fresh, local produce as possible and meals and sides that are quick to make so I can spend more time outside and less time in the kitchen. The farmers’ markets are bustling, the days are long, and the humid air always smells like “someone’s having a barbecue.” It’s my favorite time of the year in the Manitoba prairies.
