THE SEVEN CORE PHYSIOLOGICAL PROCESSES
You’ve seen how the global rise of chronic illness makes a new model of medical care necessary and how the genomic revolution makes the new model possible. Now Part 2 shows how the model must work. Taking a systems approach to the body, the chapters that follow examine the seven core physiological processes that define how we function:
• Assimilation and elimination
• Detoxification
• Defense
• Cellular communications
• Cellular transport
• Energy
• Structure
In these seven chapters, you’ll learn how each core process functions and how all interconnect to create your health pattern. A self-assessment questionnaire is provided for each core process. The questionnaires offer a frame of reference that will help you think about any process imbalances you may have. Later, in Part 3, you’ll use these self-assessments as tools for zeroing in on your process imbalances and for understanding your own health pattern and how to shape it.
