TRANSFORMATION

Definition: A change or alteration, especially a radical one.

Well done! You have made it to the last chapter of the book. You have all the tools necessary for your transformation, for turning your dreams into a reality.

Good job for hanging in there, finding the courage to be so honest with yourself, and committing to doing the exercises and making all the positive changes necessary for your reinvention. By now you should have your first step of action written down. If you haven’t, take a moment to do that now.

I have written some of the exercises in the checklist opposite for you as a reminder, just in case you left any out. You may want to have a quick flick through the book or your notes. Also know that at any point you can come back to one of the chapters and redo any of the exercises as you evolve with your reinvention or perhaps as you reinvent one thing you find something else you want to reinvent. Exercises such as the vision board (see pages 100101) and the ‘energy follows thought’ meditation (see pages 1346) are helpful ones to keep using as they will change and evolve with you.

Contract with myself

Writing things down is one thing and sticking to the plan is another, so I have created a contract for you below. This is your time to make a contract with yourself, to commit to putting into action all of the preparation you have done throughout this book. This will make your goal more real and you will know you have committed to following it through. Because just like training for a marathon you have to do the practice, but you also have to show up on race day to get the medal. You can create your own contract if you want to make it even more personal to you.

I ……………….............. commit to making positive changes to support me and create space in my life for my reinvention.

I am committed to taking daily, weekly and monthly action toward my goal. I’m excited and I believe in myself and my ability to achieve this. I feel supported and I am ready.

You may want to keep your reinvention plans private, but if not it can help to let a partner or friend know of your commitment. They can help to keep you accountable and maybe you can support them in their reinvention. I, for example, started telling people I was finishing my book, so I knew I would do it long before the deadline. I also committed to creating my website by buying the domain name and putting up a holding page saying ‘coming soon’ to make a contract with myself. Keeping yourself accountable and creating deadlines will help you stick to your plan. I promise you there are projects vital to my reinvention that I would have never done had I not asked for or created my own deadlines. We are all capable of amazing things once we fully commit ourselves.

Final thoughts

When we embark on new journeys we may feel vulnerable at times and we may stumble, but remember that many people have gone before you and succeeded, overcoming huge hurdles. Know that the difference between you achieving or not achieving your goal can be as simple as you believing you can do it and you believing that you can’t, or the difference between someone who fell and gave up and someone who got up, carried on and succeeded.

I believe in you and I respect you for committing to changing something in your life, so that you can be a happier and more contented person. I have let you know that I have felt vulnerable many times in my life and I have had moments of OMG, how is this going to actually come together, but I kept walking forward, I committed fully and I kept my eye on the goal. Sometimes we have to detour to get to where we need to be and that’s fine too. Have faith in yourself and know that you are far more powerful and capable than you probably give yourself credit for. And remember it’s okay to ask for help when we need it. I wish for you to live your life the way it was meant to be lived, to its fullest potential. You didn’t come here to play it small, you came here to shine your light so bright that everyone can see it.

I want to leave you with just one more question:

What is the deepest reason for your reinvention and how will your reinvention positively impact the world around you?

PS …

Imagine if everything you are searching for outside of yourself is already within you.
