The purpose of the gazetteer (see here) is to list examples of mazes and labyrinths worldwide and to indicate their location. There are comprehensive online databases available such as the Worldwide Labyrinth Locator, Corn Mazes America, and Maze Play’s Maize Maze Locator (following). It is of course sensible to not only check the locations of maize mazes, some of which tend to change from year to year, but also to check if a permanent maze or labyrinth is still open to the public.

Over two hundred mazes and labyrinths are listed in the gazetteer, but there are many more besides, often located within a franchised or independent adventure park. It goes without saying that wherever you are headed, it is always advisable to check out the latest information. The ownership and management of some attractions can change over time.

There are also many events centered on mazes and labyrinths, including World Labyrinth Day organized by The Labyrinth Society. Usually taking place on the first Saturday in May, it is aimed at bringing people from all over the planet together “in celebration of the labyrinth as a symbol, a tool, a passion, or a practice.”
