The silent stars go by
When I was a seeker, I sought both day and night
Bearing gifts, we traverse afar
From the rich to the poor then are mostly unkind
All our costliest treasures bring
Many there be that stand outside
What child is this?
For all weary children, Mary must weep
The hopes and fears of all the years
And all the bells on earth shall ring
Great kings have precious gifts and we have naught
On Christmas Day in the morning
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Lullay, thou little tiny child
Peace to all that have goodwill
From the rich to the poor they are mostly unkind
For all weary children, Mary must weep
Cold on his cradle
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Sleep as they sleep who find their heart’s desire
The snow lay on the ground, the stars shone bright
Oh, rest beside the weary road
Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume breathes a life of gathering gloom
Peace on earth, and mercy mild
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
And all the flowers looked up at him and all the stars looked down
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep
And wild and sweet the words repeat of peace on earth, goodwill to men
Oh, weary, weary is the world
Angels bending near the earth
The Night is Darker now and the wind blows stronger. Fails my heart, I know not how. I can go longer.
And glory shone around
Though the frost was cruel
Fear not, then said the angel
And might, and might, and might to those whose hearts are right
All is calm, all is bright
Wing your flight o’er all the eart
Loving father, loving mother, shelter thee with tender care
Look down from the sky
sing praises, all you within this place
And all the bells on earth shall ring
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light
Carols
