2. Jotham devoted himself to strengthening the national defense by building up the military defense facilities.
3. The kingdom became rich and powerful when Jotham followed the way of the Lord.

1. Ahaz followed the abominable ways of the Gentiles.
2. Ahaz did not rely on God but on the army of Assyria.
3. Ahaz transgressed against God even more during the time of distress.
Chapter 16: The Eleventh Generation: Hezekiah
1. Hezekiah boldly carried out a religious reformation.
2. Hezekiah had his life extended 15 years on the verge of death.
3. Hezekiah became proud after his life was extended.
4. Hezekiah went to battle against Assyria twice.
5. Hezekiah did not fully pass down his faith to his son Manasseh.
