INSTRUCTIONS

1. Gather sleeve ruffle and attach to sleeve. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards sleeve. see p. 62 for reference).
2. Sew the undersides of sleeves. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards back. see p. 62 for reference).
3. Fold up sleeve ruffle edge twice and sew (see p. 62)
4. Sew back bodice with Rs facing at center back. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards right side).
5. Sew the sides of lower bodice. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards back).
6. Fold up hem twice and sew.
7. Fold the front edges of the lower bodice twice and sew. sew gathering stitches at waist.
8. Gather waist and sew upper and lower bodice pieces together with Rs facing. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards upper bodice).
9. Bind neckline with bias tape (same fabric).
10. Sew hook and eye.
*M = neaten raw edge using serger or zig zag stitch

INSTRUCTIONS

Coat dress

1. Make fabric loop (see p. 75 for reference).
2. Sew undersides of sleeves. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards back).
3. Fold over sleeve opening twice and sew.
4. Sew upper bodice at center back. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards right).
5. Sew sides of lower bodice. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards back).
6. Fold up hem twice and sew.
7. Baste 5 loops onto front, fold hem up twice and sew. Then sew gathering stitches at the waist.
8. Gather waist and sew upper and lower bodice pieces together with Rs facing. (*M through both layers. Press seam allowance towards upper bodice).
9. Baste a loop at the neckline, then finish the entire neckline with bias tape (same fabric).
10. Attach buttons.

INSTRUCTIONS

Preparation ……Apply fusible interfacing to facing

Apply stay tape to pocket opening.

*M for center back edges, undersides of sleeves and sides, outer edge of front facing and straight side of pocket bag.

1. Sew shoulders with French seam.
2. Leaving the pocket opening, sew side from sleeve to hem (press open seam).
3. Make pockets.
4. Fold over sleeve opening twice and sew (see p. 60 for reference).
5. Sew center back (press open seam).
6. Sew facings at shoulder (press open seam). Fold over outer edge of front facing and sew.
7. With Rs facing, sew coat and lining together
8. Turn facing right side out, fold up hem twice and sew.
9. Stitch front edge, and sew back facing to back of coat.
10. Make belt (see p. 60 for reference).
