This atlas is designed to provide some important information about skin conditions that may be seen in adolescents. Individual patients will often present to the adolescent practitioner’s office with dermatologic concerns. During adolescence, body image is a crucial contributor to emotional well-being. The visibility of the skin results in healthy skin being a high priority for many individuals.
The adolescent practitioner will find a number of illustrated skin conditions, a limited discussion of each topic, and useful references. Although not a comprehensive collection, this atlas is meant to address some of the most common skin disorders.
We hope that this text will provide a useful starting point for addressing adolescent skin issues.
